| What first strikes you about this site is its use of color. Rather than clutter the display with annoying background colors or patterns, the designers at Rini, Coran & Lancellotta go with white, and accent it with four colors: red, green, blue and yellow. These colors will be the only colors you'll see throughout the site - and though it's subtle, it gives the site a very distinctive flair. (And the colors are used on the text, as well as the images, with the overall effect resulting in a tightly integrated presentation.) This firm tries hard to pull off an insider's guide to telecommunications law, and they succeed: click on "Industry News" on the nav bar and you'll see news that is barely 24 hours old. It takes some effort to keep a site like this up to date, but you better believe that if prospective clients come to rely on your site for information, you'll have a captive audience who will no doubt start to associate you with quality information. When they have a telecom problem, who do you think they'll call? Everything about this site is tailored to send a clear, consistent message: we have the inside track in the telecom area. It wouldn't work without very current information, sophisticated design, and quality information that impresses the visitor. Because they succeed on all three counts, the firm manages to carve out its own niche - one that the web site does a good job of reinforcing. |
