We're glad that Hale and Dorr finally decided to redesign their site. It's had the same look-and-feel for a while. Unfortunately, they've still got some work to do. Attorney profiles appear in a separate pop-up window. So if you want to, for example, bookmark the profile of your attorney, you have to be clever to do it (opening the link in a new window and/or right-clicking in the pop-up window). Why make a simple (and we suspect common) task difficult for your users? The home page navigation elements do not operate smoothly. There's something about the mouseover navigation elements that doesn't feel right. We counted 35 pieces of substantive content dated 1999, which is OK, but not great, for a firm with 350 attorneys. The search engine had four options (search the entire site or parts of it), but search output was poor.
