For no apparent reason, this firm uses pop-up windows when you navigate to the attorney profiles (under "directory"). The window that pops up cannot be resized, and the user interface is awkward to say the least. The profiles themselves use a resume style. Fonts on this page were smaller than elsewhere on the site. The "firm publications" section contains about three dozen searchable newsletters. Extranet-like features (which we cannot evaluate because, by definition, they are password-protected) include the "IDMS" document management section (http://idms.chapman.com/) and sections for summer and fall associates to login. Site navigation was confusing. A text box appeared at the top of each page. The elements of this text box appeared to be the same as the same elements in a navigation bar that appeared in the footer of each page. A drop-down menu was also available. We'd recommend choosing one method of navigation and sticking with it. Some of the information on the "what's new" page was undated, but we recommend integrating new content where it belongs in the site rather than using "what's new" pages. Or simply use the home page as your "what's new" page. Search engine output was good, but searching appeared to be limited to the newsletter section.
