The home page loads quickly and makes excellent use of white space. The site's file/directory structure is not immediately obvious, however, because there are three main navigation elements: a graphical-based navigation bar, a headlines section, and a text-only navigation bar. We had to do some digging to figure out what was on this site. The problem continued on subpages, as different graphical-based and text-based navigation bars were presented. We recommend making the elements of graphical-based and text-based navigation bars logical and identical, and we recommend using the same navigation bars throughout the site. In addition, we would recommend moving a major section such at "Attorneys" to the top level. Attorney profiles used the resume-style (we prefer a narrative style) and did not include links to Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory listings. The light color on some of the pages (such as the "Our Practice") page made the text difficult to view on a laptop computer. The firm should be commended for publishing its "Daily Report" online. Nearly one full year's worth of these reports were online. We almost missed the search engine (in the text-only navigation bar at the bottom of the page), but search engine output was good. Recent cases covering international trade law were also online under "Tools for for the Trade." We'd recommend putting cases in a section called "Cases," articles in a section called "Articles." This site has strong content, but the organization is sub-optimal. With some reorganization, the site's content would be even easier for visitors to locate.
