| One of the graphics on the home page is a bit large, which means we had to wait a bit longer than we'd like for the home page to load, but other than that, the home page is well designed. A two-frame presentation and mouse-over graphics are used to aid navigation. On subpages, however, the frames add no value. Only the firm's graphic is presented in the top frame. And navigation is via a drop-down menu, which is not the easiest navigation method for site visitors, because it takes two clicks (one to select, one to "go") to get to where you want to go. The firm should get an "A" for effort in designing its attorney profile search interface. You can search by keyword, law school, or name. The profiles themselves omit key information such as the attorney's phone number and e-mail address. An "email this attorney" button is provided, but the e-mail address itself is not visible, so if you print the page, you will not have this information. But the real reason to visit this site is to browse its collection of Federal Circuit opinions related to intellectual property law (the firm's practice focus). The website claims to be the only one that publishes "unpublished" opinions. Cases from the US Supreme Court and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit are also provided. This site should be in the bookmark file of everyone interested in intellectual property law. |
