| While we read the minimalistic front page, we noticed that something was loading in the background. And when we clicked to continue, we discovered that the home page had automatically loaded. A very nice effect that gives users the impression that graphics are loading instantly. We may even copy this trick on our own site. And the home page graphics were among the best we've seen, using those mouseover graphic effects we like so much. Inside, some design elements, such as titles, navigation bars, and font selection, occasionally fell through the cracks. The firm appears to be overly sensitive about disclaimers, including them on many pages in the site. Kind of made us want to send confidential information without permission. Just kidding. Via URL-Minder, users can receive e-mail updates when the firm's "What's New" page is updated. We'd suggest moving that feature, as well as the content from the "What's New" page to the home page. A handful of articles was online, but not as many as we'd expect from firm this size. The Thunderstone Webinator search engine produced better output than most. |
