The mouseover text effects, which simply duplicate the elements of the navigation bar, add no value to a home page that is otherwise visually very appealing. We'd also move the search engine link to the navigation bar, since this is a common destination for site visitors. Inside, the professional look of the graphics doesn't carry over to other site design elements such as page layout, font selection, and page titles. In other words, the pages themselves do not look as good as the graphics that surround them. Also, we think it's difficult to execute a frames-based presentation with more than two frames, and this three-frames presentation is no exception. And if the designers had used mouseover graphics to load the you-are-here red triangle graphic once in the left frame, users could avoid the effect of that page reloading with each new section. The top frame contains only the name of the firm, so we'd move that information to the left navigation frame. Attorney profile pages omitted photographs and phone numbers. The organization of the "Publications" section is poor. Some items are dated, others are not. A search engine interface on this page would help. Search engine output included only the titles of the found pages, and those titles were not helpful, not bookmark-friendly. With a little fine-tuning, this site could be much better, but poor organization and a non-integrated search engine make finding information difficult.
