The splash page was just small enough to load before the home page automatically loaded. The home page also featured old server-side imagemap technology and cliche "New" clipart icons. Also, an automatic deduction for including a counter on the home page. The "What's New" section contained no dates, so we're left wondering how new is new. Page titles were not only not bookmark-friendly but were not used at all. For example, the title of the home page was "main.shtml," the filename of the home page. Attorney profiles included photos for partners but appeared not to include them for associates. The most recent content in the "Newsletters" section was dated 11/97. We're replace the "Legal Resources" section with a link to FindLaw. And we question the wisdom of including links to Excite city pages for Atlanta and Washington on the home page labeled as "Atlanta, GA, Links" and "Washington, DC, Links" respectively. We certainly didn't expect to sent away from the site from the home page!
