| The home page contains 100 Kbytes of content, 93.4 Kbytes of which is graphics. This will take approximately 28 seconds to load over a 28.8 Kbps connection, which is too long in our opinion. Mouse-over graphics provide nice feedback on the navigation bar. The site also uses cookies, but we're not sure why. Attorney profiles employ the resume style, and the frames-based interface is clunky. Navigation elements were used inconsistently in the site. Some pages contained text elements, some both text and graphic elements. We'd eliminate the links from the "Resource Center" in favor of a single link to FindLaw. And we've move "Publications" up a level in the file/directory structure. Otherwise, users might miss the excellent "Internet Case Digest," which is updated weekly and is the most comprehensive summary of Internet law that we've seen. Case summaries and synopses on areas such as domain names, encryption, and spam are included. Everyone interested in the emerging area of Internet law should bookmark this page. And we think the firm should move this content to the home page. The search engine output is among the best we've seen, and bookmark-friendly titles would make it even better. Under "New Content," we saw the the firm adds four or five new articles per month to the site, but we'd suggest moving this information to the home page. Can you imagine a newspaper with a "What's New" page? It's called Page 1. |
