The splash page did not completed load before sending us on to the home page. The graphics are excellent (although we think some bit-stripping could make them smaller), and page layout is top-notch. A flaw with page layout is the absence of consistent bookmark-friendly titles. We found navigating the subpages difficult, and the visual clues were not immediately apparent. For example, to get to publications related to the firm's Year 2000 practice, you have to first select "Year 2000" from the "Practice Specialties" section. So far so good (although we wonder why there is no "Publications" section). Then in the left margin of the "Year 2000" page, you have to click on "Practice News," and then on "Read" to read the publications. Once you click your way to the article, it's quite helpful, but we think it's too many clicks away, and we find the omission of a publications section odd. We like the fact that the "Hiring" section allows you to search for attorneys by law school. Although it's odd that the same option is not provided in the "Find Your Attorney" section. There is a search engine, but it outputs only the titles of found pages, and those titles, as mentioned previously, are not very helpful. This is a potentially powerful site that uses powerful ColdFusion technology, but it needs some refining to make its organization more logical.
