Although we think the phrases "Welcome to our site" and "such-and-so online" are cliches, Miller Canfield score points for its use of humor on its home page. The home page includes the phrase "And don't forget, we are lawyers, so of course we have a disclaimer!" Very nice. A simple two-frame presentation is used, with text navigation elements on the bottom of each left frame, and a graphics-based navigation bar in the left frame. Unfortunately, not all of the subpages take advantage of the nice framing of the home page. On some subpages, no frames are used, and there are no navigation elements. Attorney profiles were included under the "People@Miller Canfield" section, which included a pop-up menu option for finding lawyers. This is a nice touch because it prevents the page from getting awkwardly long to view. The "Hot Points" newsletter is nice, but more substantive content would be even nicer. A search engine would also make a nice addition. |
