| What a pleasant first impression this site makes! A montage of photos, many of them with smiling faces, is used to represent the major areas of the site. Image replacement, both on the navigation bar and on the accompanying photos, adds to the effect. Inside, the presentation is equally impressive. A simple two-frames presentation works well. And congratulations to this firm for putting "HOME: www.mayerbrown.com" on the bottom of each major page. Now, when somebody prints or e-mails a page from this site to a colleague or client, the recipient will know where the page came from. Under "Legal Updates," you'll find substantive content (newsletters, memos, and the like) on a variety of legal topics. The recruiting section includes audio testimonies (using RealAudio) from recent summer associates. About the only thing we don't like is that the attorney profiles don't use the narrative style. The search engine was under construction, and the "law links" area in the "Library" section adds less than one link to FindLaw would, but these are minor complaints about an otherwise excellent site. |
