| The first thing you'll notice when you visit this site is the slow Java applet that loads in the left frame. And all that Java applet does is present a series of images. This same effect can (and should) be generated without Java by simply using animated GIFs. As of this writing, the announced proposed merger of Dallas-based Locke Purnell Rain Harrell with Houston-based Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Hill & LaBoon (to be Locke Liddell & Sapp) appeared to be still in process. Attorney profiles were online, but due to HTML coding errors, attorney photos appeared as broken links. A handful of mostly undated articles were online. The site uses frames well, with graphical navigation elements in the left frame, and text-based elements on the bottom of each page in the right frame. The left frame appeared to be a bit too wide, but other than that, the frames implementation was not a distraction. Lacking from the site is substantive content that would compel users to return. But in this case, the news of the merger with Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Hill & LaBoon (which was linked to from the home page Java applet) is reason enough for a return visit. |
