| Look at Katten Muchin & Zavis's home page and compare it with some of the more cluttered, frames-based sites that use an abundance of background colors. Notice the difference? You're not overwhelmed by too much information. The page looks professional. The site lets you decide where you want to go. It's like the difference between a blinking neon sign and a hand-carved wooden sign. One is brash, the other elegant. We really like Katten Muchin & Zavis's understated approach (in case it wasn't obvious). The practice area section allows you to search the group, list them alphabetically, or list by department. There's also a search interface right on the page (common to all sections). Pages load quickly, and the elegant, understated design of the home page is evident all throughout the site. Clicking on "Attorneys", though, produced a comment that "This section will be completed in mid-October." We don't know when they originally said that, but we looked at the site in the first week of November, and it still wasn't complete. Also, there's no original content on the site. |
