Two cliches in one: a scrolling text applet that also has as its first piece of scrolling text "Welcome to our web site." Ugh. Aside from that, we found a lot to like. The attorney directory is flexible - you can search by name, office, or practice area - which we think is a great way of encouraging visitors to browse the attorney listings. The publications page offers the option of browsing by topic or searching by keyword. We don't know why others don't do this - it makes a lot of sense. Of course, instead of viewing the articles online, you have to request copies be mailed to you. This seems unnecessary - the medium exists for the dissemination of information, and surely it's more expensive to mail them? (We do recognize the benefit of having someone's name and mailing address, but we wonder if the firm's priorities should take precedence over the viewer's. We suspect they shouldn't.) Under "What's New", on the other hand, there's a bunch of content - even some recent presentations given by the lawyers (which can be viewed online).
