The presentation on this site is rather dramatic - a black background with graphics in bright colors. However, it would work better if the links to the main subsections were visible on the first screen - instead, we have to scroll down. At first glance, in fact, the first screen looks more like a splash screen - and users may be confused and simply wait for the next page to load (as many splash screens do). Once inside, we liked the layout. Even though we aren't great fans of frames, this bottom frame doesn't take up much space and it means that the navigation structure is obvious wherever in the site you happen to be. The attorney list doesn't work as well as it could - between the list itself (broken up into A-L and M-Z) which is 39k, and the header image (which is 36k), the page takes a long time to load. (Header images on all sections are similar in size - they could be smaller without losing too much detail.) In fact, after clicking on an attorney's name in the A-L list, you're then taken to a list of all attorneys in that letter (in our case, we clicked on a name starting with "B"). At THAT point, we could then click on their name to send e-mail, or click to see their Martindale-Hubbell entry. That's way too much effort to get to information that ought to be easy. With one exception, the newsletters were very old - more than a year old, in fact. The recruiting information is decent.
