| At some point in designing this site, someone made the decision that green would be the predominant color. This is not a big deal, except that someone forgot to carry this decision out throughout the site: resulting in the sometimes jarring differences between some links (that are the correct color) and others that are either bright blue or purple. Like we said, it's not a big deal - except this lack of attention to detail results in visitors paying attention to things other than the content of the site. We tried to use the search engine, but assume it's broken. Even though several articles on the site were about the Y2K problem, searches for "Y2K", "year 2000" and "year2000" yielded no results. The graphics are minimalist, but generally work within the context of the site, as is the case with most West Firm Sites. The content is mostly out of date - a few were from 1998, but several articles were from mid- to late-1997 (but weren't dated... we had to visit the links to find out). Strangely enough, the press releases listed in "What's new" and the ones listed in "Press Releases" don't match up - and both were missing a press release listed on the front page. Overall, the site presents the firm well, but in a fairly conventional fashion. |
