| Clicking on "About this site" tells you who is responsible for the site - and we were stunned to find out that the entire site is an in-house project. Simply put, this may be the best internally designed site we've seen (and perhaps one of the best - period). The design is crisp - in fact, once you leave the home page, we challenge you to find a graphic (other than attorney photos). Yet at no time does the site feel under-designed; in fact, it's just the opposite: by forcing the design to rely on font selection, color backgrounds, and table layouts, it seems that the designers became more creative. Beyond this, the presentation wins for various other reasons: non content-heavy pages often fit within one screen of information, which means you don't have to scroll to see the important stuff; all contact info is placed on one page; and individuals are identified by name to handle inquiries. We would like to see more original content - it is often the best way to showcase a firm's talent - but even Davis Polk has addressed that (to a degree) by providing detailed information about the firm's recent activities (including representation), which achieves the same goal. In the end, it's clear that quite a bit of thought and planning went into this site, and for that they should be congratulated. |
