| Though the graphics are used well, the HTML coding that accompanies the graphics is sometimes poorly written. This results in several pages that have no margins (ordinarily, browsers display some room between the edges of the screen; on several pages here, however, the text actually touches the borders, giving the impression that there is more text beyond the border). The frames implementation makes the entire site unfriendly to anyone who would want to bookmark a page. As was the case last year, it takes numerous clicks to get to certain pages. (For example, if you want to find a lawyer, you must click on "Attorneys", then "Alphabetical Directory", then a letter. You're rewarded with just an e-mail address and a phone number. If the firm doesn't want to go through the trouble of providing a separate bio, at least link to the Martindale-Hubbell listing!) Most of the "What's new" section contains press releases about the firm, and a few articles (some from the summer of 1998) are buried under "Archive of Previous Articles" on the What's New page. Overall, this site has a good look. But too little time was spent on how users will interact with the site -making much of the content hard to find. |
