Our first impression upon visiting Briggs & Morgan's site? We were very impressed to see that the firm's phone number and e-mail address are present in the same place on every page. It may not seem like much, but it really is shocking how few firms get this right. The search engine output is good, but could be better: we see just titles of pages found, plus the "score" (which is not explained) and the file size. We'd prefer to see an abstract of the file so we'd have an idea of what the file was before clicking on it. The omnipresent disclaimer (in a table cell, with a gray background so you can't miss it) is probably overkill - one should be enough. The "Publications" section is woefully out of date - we saw one article from 1998, while the majority appeared to be from 1995 and 1996. Practice area descriptions were thorough, and we like that the attorneys in each section are listed along with the section head - it makes getting in touch with an individual much easier. The attorney bios are actually off-site links to the West Legal Directory which open in a new browser, which is a little confusing.
