We'd like more firms to see Arnold & Porter's site - if only to learn that white space can be a good thing. Too often, designers feel the need to place as much information or graphics on a page as the browser window will allow - and almost always end up alienating the viewer. Arnold & Porter's clean design conveys a professionalism that simply bolsters the image the firm has been building for years. It's obvious that a fair amount of thought went into design - from searching the attorney bio database to navigation within the subsections of the site - and the result is a very straightforward experience. Little touches make a big difference - newsletters are dated (so you know how recent an article is), a sitemap allows you to go anywhere you want, and attorney bios provide phone numbers and e-mail addresses (though the latter are not linked, meaning you'll have to type the address in yourself). Another plus: contact info for every office is provided on one page (under About Us | Offices, or just "Offices" from the home page).
