| It's a year later, and... Anderson Kill is still not the enemy. With a splash screen announcing the same, the site then loads the same library of lawyer jokes that makes one wonder exactly what kind of message the firm wants to send. That they don't take themselves seriously? Fine - see afewgoodlawyers.com for an example of how that can be done without insulting your own profession. First impressions aside, a wealth of outstanding content is here. While much of the site is unchanged from when we looked at it last year (the Vacatur Center remains one of the best examples of a law firm providing a service to the general public on the Web), one new addition is the Jensen v. The White Star Line - a mock trial focusing on the Titanic's sinking. Each year, Anderson Kill & Olick stages a mock trial for Take Your Daughter to Work Day, and given the interest in this case, they put the materials online. The end result is a canned set of materials that would work well in any classroom setting, or, as the site explains, "by a scout troop for law merit badges, by an after school program, such as computer or debate club, or even by summer camp or party." They even provide teaching materials. Kudos! |
