Squire, Sanders & Dempsey uses a newspaper motif to present their home page, and it works. Other sites that have tried this have failed, largely because the layout often appears cluttered and suffers from poor design. Thanks in part, no doubt, to the professional Web developers who assisted Squire, Sanders & Dempsey with this site, the presentation comes across cleanly, and lends an air of timeliness to the publication (it was hard to tell just how often the newspaper headline changes). We liked the "You Make the Call" section - a nice departure from some staid presentations of other firms (though we confess to feeling a brief set of chills, a reminder of law school exams from years past). Practice area profiles - such as their litigation section (which claimed to be one of the oldest in the country) - are decent, though the published articles could be more timely. A more thorough set of navigation options would be a welcome addition to the site. Currently, users only have the option of going back to the home page or going up one level.
