| Pastel-like graphics load quickly yet present a rich visual image, giving us a positive first impression. Navigation is aided by non-obtrusive frames. However, certain sections of the site (history, recruiting, and offices) are not accessible from the main navigational frame, and the imagemap uses older server-side technology. Some of the graphics on subpages (such as the "attorney search" page) were a bit too large for our liking, but we were seldom distracted by this high-performance site. Attorney profiles included links to representative cases. It would be helpful if we could search for any attorney by fist name, too. How many times do you recall a person's first, but not last, name? Practice areas include litigation, business, and environmental law, and there are articles online in all of these areas. Navigation would be aided by the addition of an occasional "next page" button. For example, in "practice areas," you have to click back and forth several times to get from the overview to the attorneys who practice in a particular area. A little more than a dozen articles appear in the "library" section. Other content worth coming back for is harder to get to, tucked several clicks away under "practice areas," and invisible to public search engines (such as AltaVista and InfoSeek) because the articles are not static linked files. Some of the finest graphics we've seen, and with a little logic tuning to the navigational aspects of the site, it would be hard to beat. |
