| One of our favorite law firm Web sites. The home page employs a periodical style, with a monthly feature on a particular legal issue. For example, the May feature was about how to minimize risk under the securities laws for statements made in company Web sites. Lots of articles are online on a wide variety of legal topics, including employment, securities, and environmental law. Given FindLaw's dominance in the legal Internet directory market, we remain puzzled why any firm would attempt to compile its own lists of links (as Brobeck has done). Nevertheless, their list if links is here, and it is searchable, which is helpful to the uninitiated. Special attention is paid to client services, with a clients-only form for submitting legal research questions to the firm's staff. Also contains in-depth information about the Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR filing process. Navigation would be aided if more attention were paid to the names of subpages and to a consistent navigation bar (several are used in the site). But there is a site-wide search engine. Overall, excellent content, very good presentation, and a very good experience. |
