RedStreet Publishes Annual Reviews of Nation's 300 Largest Law Firms' Websites One Named "Law Firm Website of the Millennium" ACTON, MA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2000--RedStreet Inc. (http://www.redstreet.com) announced today the publication of its annual in-depth review of the nation's largest law firms' websites, including reviews of all of The National Law Journal 250 ("NLJ 250") law firms. The NLJ 250 law firms are the nation's largest law firms according to The National Law Journal's annual survey. The reviews can be found at RedStreet's website (http://www.redstreet.com). Topping this year's list is Littler Mendelson, P.C., which has its corporate headquarters in San Francisco. Litter scored 28 out of a possible 30 points, an "A" rating in two out of three categories, and an overall "A" rating, earning it the title "Law Firm Website of the Millennium" by RedStreet. "This year it is clear that law firms have come into their own on the Internet and are beginning to keep pace with available technology," said Red Street co-founder and President Erik J. Heels. This year's large law firm website analysis is the fourth annual ranking of law firm websites by RedStreet, whose reviews have become the legal industry standard. Each website receives a score between one and 30 based on an analysis of approximately 50 different factors in three categories: content, presentation, and experience. The reviews take into consideration page layout, navigation elements, interactive elements, and substantive content. RedStreet's website includes a "museum" of what the law firm's home page looked like at the time it was reviewed. The RedStreet Museum includes lists of law-related information on the Internet dating back to 1992, before the web was born. For the first time this year, RedStreet used data from the Martindale-Hubbell directory instead of the InterNIC registered domain name database currently maintained by Network Solutions, Inc. (http://www.networksolutions.com). "Martindale provided us with a much cleaner data source and fewer domain name errors," Heels said, "In past years, we spent a lot of time explaining to firms - after the fact - why their domain name was registered to their consultant, or why their domain name was misspelled. We know the information in Martindale-Hubbell is accurate." Reviews with data originating from Martindale-Hubbell bear the "powered by Martindale" seal. "As it is, the review process takes us a full two months, but it would have taken even longer without the data from Martindale." The top law firms' website reviews complement the exhaustive reviews presented each spring by RedStreet covering small and medium-sized law firms as well. Visitors to http://www.redstreet.com can now view over 1000 law firm website reviews. Earlier this year, RedStreet reviewed every small and medium-sized law firm listed in Yahoo (http://www.yahoo.com) and FindLaw's (http://www.findlaw.com) directory (about 4000 total) in order to find the best 26.
